I am an experienced educator dedicated to empowering students with disabilities and their teachers. I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Special Education at The University of Kansas with a specialization in Instructional Design, Technology, and Innovation. I will be doing research in novel instructional technologies, with an emphasis on the application of Artificial Intelligence to Special Education. I am passionate about Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and training future educators to create inclusive environments. I am committed to accessibility, equity, and inclusivity,. My aim is to shape technology practices in education to shape a better future for all learners.

Greetings from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! My name is Tony Barnes and I am a professional educator and current doctoral candidate (Ed.D.) through Central Michigan University. My research interests include teacher shortages, grow your own teacher programs, instructional design, and generative artificial intelligence in education.
